Is The Site Slow Loading

Clicked on my desktop shortcut for these forums about ten minutes ago and after a couple of minutes thought my internet had gone down, the browser was going nowhere!
Tried a couple of other sites, worked perfectly.
I did a speed test (web page loading speed) and the results speak for themselves:
See the results: http://webwait.com/2dl
The other two sites are hosted in the UK I admit, but the should never be that much of a difference.
Oh, also the tester runs the test five (5) times and then averages out the results, and the first of the five for summerwine came in at 98 seconds. abysmal.

Most interesting. I am intrigued (and as always anxious to learn more about this modern marvel, the Internet). How does "webwait" define "web page loading speed"? Or does Amazon cheat?

I tried an Amazon page and webwait came up with 0.33s : http://webwait.com/2dl

However, I note the page seems to load but is not usable. It starts loading again (by which I mean I assume it is loading more information). Stops that loading. Then after another pause, resumes loading. Can be many seconds before it is possible to scan down the page.

Inevitable question - is it me, i.e. my laptop?

We seem to be back. Like welcoming an old friend. And speed problem looks like sorted.
Now, what rubbish can I post?

Reran the webwait check. Down to 0.51 seconds average for the five.
