Any songs that were sung or played within any episode, not just by Compo. For example Howard singing Dream When You're Feeling Blue in A Musical Passing for a Miserable Muscroft.
I'd be hard picked to choose either series 14 or 17. Both are really good series and have some great episodes. Any series (except 13) in Foggy's second run are great and throughly enjoyable. Series 11 with Seymour would be a close second though.
The design of the wine bottle cover was by graphic designer Sid Sutton, most known for the 1980s Doctor Who title sequence. It does look great though. Shame they never used a similar idea for later releases.
@RickAns @imitation700mb Here's some comparison shots of the 4:3 and 16:9 versions of Bicycle Bonanza. All shots taken at exactly the same points in the episodes. Soundtrack for both versions is exactly the same.

For some reason, the three episodes listed above are all in 4:3 here in region 2 despite every other episode being in 16:9 from series 16 onwards. As I understand, the show started to be made in 16:9 when it changed to being entirely shot on film (series 14 onwards). The show being shot on film...
Not sure if anyone else has ever noticed this but the region 1 DVD seems to have Bicycle Bonanza in widescreen where as region 2 DVD is full screen. Titles are different too.
Region 1 DVD:
Region 2 DVD:
A Leg Up for Christmas also found on the same DVD is still only in full screen same as...
I believe some of the repeats on UKTV have used the unedited version. It is only a short scene that goes just before Compo barges into the cafe, but it's great to see the trio kicked out of the cafe by Crusher for being full! It has probably been mentioned before I'm sure.
Just simply whether it has the scene in with Crusher, which unfortunately the region 2 DVD has the edited version. I was wondering if anyone knows if the region 1 vintage dvd also has the same edited version or not.
I managed to track copies of the vintage DVDs to finally see the extras. I found the Roy Clarke interview very interesting to watch, especially how Roy liked to work when writing and what he did as a job before getting into writing. The tale of the horse and the bar was funny too. I must admit...
Just watched The Man Who Nearly Knew Pavrotti and was wondering about the tune Billy Ingleton plays on the piano. Is it composed by Ronnie Hazlehurst or is it a piece of classical music?
In an interview, Roy Clarke has openly said he has no interest in the production of the programmes he writes and leaves that to other people. He is writer and that is what he concerns himself with. That's why he never really visits sets during filming too.
Hi everyone, I have already started posting on the forum but thought I would introduce myself here too.
I have been watching through the entire series and just finished watching series 31 yesterday. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the show. Currently going back through and rewatching some of...
