York with a Touch of Chocolate

Among other items of note, York is known for chocolate. And of course, Lancaster is not too far away with quite a different reputation. And over here, across the pond, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania there is the town of Lancaster with an interesting reputation, and not too far away is the town of York. This town is known for many things among which is the chocolate confection, the York Peppermint Patty, so named as York is not too far from the Hershy, the town of all thing's chocolate, where of course, Milton Hershey established the town and began his chocolate empire. So, no matter where you might go, York means really good chocolate.

York (the UK version!) is a beautiful city to visit, steeped in history. We make a point of going every year, we have also done the York chocolate experience which is well worth it!
If you visit in 2024 and fancy a change from the normal hotel/B&B try this place, about a 15 minute drive from the centre, and if you are slightly train daft you will be in your element, we have stayed there several times since it first opened getting on 40 years ago.

Looks really novel may try there next time, I also recommend this place, it's right next to the cathedral has free parking (which is very rare in York) and a beautiful walled garden. It can be pricey but you can get some deals out of season.
