Gave all my Coats and Jumpers to charity years ago, shirt sleeves for me 365 all weathers , only thing I hate is getting wet so carry an umbrella on days when rain expected.

Today's temp is even worse than last week's. -2F at ~8 AM. I'm working in the sunniest room in the house, wearing the heated gilet, and slipping my hands into a heated hand warmer whenever possible. This too shall pass!

I've just returned from Dubai, where I'm told it can rise to 50c in the summer months. Apparently it's illegal for outdoor workers to work between the hours of 12 - 5 during the summer months. I just cannot comprehend these temperatures, I don't think I've ever experienced temperatures of more than about 36 or 37 and that was too much for me....

I spent some time in Arizona and the temp was often mid 40c, but being a very dry heat it did feel more comfortable, you just had to be careful and make sure you drink plenty of water, we did a briefing on what to do if you break down in the desert and need help, to attract attention was to start by setting fire to the spare wheel in the hope that the black smoke would be seen and if all else fails set fire to the vehicle, to avoid this type if problem I just went to Walmart

Just read today's news about Storm Amy. I hope everyone on the forum is OK. Please stay in, keep your heads down, and try to ride it out.

Since the temperature is hovering around 32F, they have invented a new word to describe the white stuff. The word is "SNOWCRETE." Snow that's frozen so solid that it's impossible to shovel. The roads are clear but there are mounds about 3-4 feet high, hard to walk on and difficult to peer around.

It's an adventure to take pets out. All the boot depressions and other disturbances, made shortly after snowfall, are now solid and brutal to walk over.
