Good question, my 10 would probably change on a daily basis but here goes I do particularly love comedies though;

1 - Extras
2 - The Repair Shop
3 - Tenable
4 - The League Of Gentlemen
5 - Blackadder
6 - Bottom
7 - Dear Ladies
8 - Band Of Brothers
9 - Dinnerladies
10 - Escape To The Country

Here is my list solely of British (and an Irish Show). I am limited to what PBS stations play or have played in Maryland.

1. Fawlty Towers
2. As Time Goes By (my wife and I are very much like a younger Jean and Lionel)
3. Hold the Sunset
4. Ballykissangel (mostly with the 1st two priests and a little less with the Australian one )
5. Doc Martin (another show with an awe-inspiring setting)
6. Young Ones
7. The Detectorists (1st season -extraordinary, 2nd Season - Very, very good, 3rd season- just alright)
8. Father Brown (with Mallory and McCarthy, not as much after they left) - I just love the Mallory character!
9. Waiting for God

10. A compilation of dramas (or 4 way tie) - Indian Doctor, Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise (before it got sappy with Neville liking Florence), and Sister Boniface Mysteries (I know, it is thought of as a cheap knock-off of Father Brown, but it is really growing on me.

My wife and I watch more British television than American. For me, it is the comedies. For her, it is the Dramas and Crime Dramas.

Some very good and interesting choices there.

Did you ever see 'Dad' with George Cole, which began in 1997?

Beautifully observed sitcom.

I heard good things about Corner Gas. I might have to check it out.

I went to a small private college in Cincinnati in the 90s. It was quite festive during basketball season with the Hoosier / Bearcat / Wildcat fans!

When I watched The Prisoner back in the '60's it gave me the hebbie jeebies, but I still watched it. I still get the hebbie jebbies when I even think about it.
