I often get small short statements sent through to me - some humourous but some more thoughtful - which I thought I would share with you. I nearly placed this in the 'funnies' thread further up as I sometimes get them alongside a funny which I repost.

Any contributions welcome from others - I am sure many of you have odd little nuggets you might wish to share ....

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

You wouldn't be worried about what people think of you if you knew how seldom they actually do.

When you have nothing important or interesting to say, don't let anyone persuade you to say it.

Unfortunately, I do most of my best proofreading after I hit Send!

A Haiku poem has three lines and only 17 syllables: 5 in the first line, 7 in the second, 5 in the third. Haikus often achieve a wistful yearning or powerful insight through their extreme brevity, as illustrated by this tech error message:

The Web site you seek
Cannot be located, but
Countless more exist.

Another Haiku poem

Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.

And another Haiku

Windows crashed again.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

More technical comments

Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Windows is like that.

And another

Your file was so big.
It might be very useful.
But now it is gone.

One for Tony:

Stay the patient course.
Of little worth is your ire.
The network is down.

More Haiku

A crash reduces
Your expensive computer
To a simple stone.

Three things are certain:
Death, taxes and lost data.
Guess which has occurred.

Having been erased,
The document you're seeking
Must now be retyped.

Serious error.
All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Both are blank.

There is an old proverb that says just about anything you want it to.

And when you are on a roll of getting stuff onto a site, you keep getting slowed down by error messages that expect you to need more than 30 seconds to compose yourself before hitting SEND!
