I love Kate

This guy was absolutely ridiculously brilliant. I'm embarrassed to say, and I've been into rock since 1978 I have only recently really got into him. Obviously I heard this and that over the years but when you really listen he blows your socks off.Thirty years ago today since the untimely death of guitar legend Rory Gallagher
I was in a technical college in Dublin in the early eighties and former Thin Lizzy member Eric Bell was in a band called skid Row at the time. They had a Friday night residency in The Baggot Inn and we went there very often. We used to meet Bell regularly, usually along Grafton Street and he would nod and say hello. I used to feel a bit starstruck when he would recognise me from seeing me often in the venue.I met him pre gig many many moons ago he was just wandering around Newcastle City Centre not many people recognised him but I of course I did shook his hand [ gently] an said how much I was looking forward to the gig that night and not to impose I moved on as did he.
Excellent guitarist Mr. Bell. That's prompted me to put on Life, Thin Lizzy live album later on.I was in a technical college in Dublin in the early eighties and former Thin Lizzy member Eric Bell was in a band called skid Row at the time. Phil Lynott was actually sacked by the lead singer of Skid Row, Brush Shiels in the late sixties. They remained on good terms and by Lynott's admission Shiels taught him to play the base guitar. Phil went on to form the band Orphanage with Brian Downey which evolved into Thin Lizzy.I was in a technical college in Dublin in the early eighties and former Thin Lizzy member Eric Bell was in a band called skid Row at the time.
