Wow Mashibinbin not heard that phrase used for years. It evokes memories of those old Black and White Films like Billy Liar and Saturday Night and Sunday Morning , films of the type where our beloved Dame Thora Hird was I suppose typecast as the ethereal said Battleaxe

The great thing about the likes of Dame Thora's and Kathy Staff's characters was that beneath the menace there was a real warmth to enjoy and bask in...but only fleetingly mind!
