Has anyone visited this location? Years ago, in the Navy, I worked for endless hours over a navigation product called a Dead Reckoning Table (DRT). It was a huge(ish), intricate glass-and-wood table - practically a work of art. They really were impressive pieces of engineering and craftsmanship. The glass surface allowed for often-changed butcher paper (which we marked up with our position and nearby ships). The paper was laid flat while the mechanical parts inside the table projected (from underneath onto the paper) the ship’s progress automatically through a connection with the ship's gyrocompass. They were painstakingly made with wood, brass, glass, and precision engineering - a steampunk-like analog computer for navigation.
Reason I ask is I understand the Greenwich museum may have one of these on display. Curious if anyone had visited this museum. Thanks!
