ISPs under attack

Apparently a number of the ISPs on the US Eastern seaboard have had seriously industrial sized DDOS attacks and are currently down.
Anyone with updated news please post it.
 
I remember reading recently that some nasty DDoS code had been released. The article made it seem like the Feds were closing in on someone who may have released it to muddy the waters if others started to use it as well.

Caught part of another article and it said that more sights are getting hit.
Sites taken down by the DDoS attack:
• Twitter
• SoundCloud
• Spotify
• Netflix
• Reddit
• Disqus
• PayPal
• Shopify + more
 
Yes it affected twitter. I was offline for a couple of hours
 
Part of an occurence mentioned by a neighbour . The attack was triggered by some American company boasting they could defeat malware and cyber crime . The cyber terrorists apparently decided to teach who ever it was (the company) a lesson by invading their site. Unfortunately it also affected others!
