So I have a freind who wants to know why I dont like the name anty wainwright so I need so help finding a episode that sums up anty wainwright perfectly should I do the cristmas thing she was introduced or some outer episode.
In some of the Christmas episodes ie A Tale of Two Sweaters you occasionally see the more human side of her, ie she gives Smiler & Tom dinner. A good one I think Is Jeremy Quite Safe where she's panicking that there may be money in a safe she has. She is a proper skin-flint as we say in the UKSo I have a freind who wants to know why I dont like the name anty wainwright so I need so help finding a episode that sums up anty wainwright perfectly should I do the cristmas thing she was introduced or some outer episode.
Have you ever seen Open All Hours? Correct me if I am wrong to the more knowledgable members here, but Aunty Wainwright was modeled after Arkwright, the shopkeeper in the 70's comedy Open All Hours (another Roy Clarke show). In case you never watched it, you might appreciate Aunty Wainwright more to see the origin of the character. So I have a freind who wants to know why I dont like the name anty wainwright so I need so help finding a episode that sums up anty wainwright perfectly should I do the cristmas thing she was introduced or some outer episode.

Her debut episode Crums was the perfect showcase for the character in my opinion - it's also a brilliant (Christmas) episode.yea I love that cookie that is anuty waneright all I came to see if there was a episode that perfectly shows her.

There's also an earlier episode of SW with a secondhand shop where the shopkeeper sells people things they don't want. Clegg ends up buying an old metal detector.Have you ever seen Open All Hours? I think it was 3/4 of Stackpole Street.Auntie openly admits her one true love is money, her aim in life is to make as much as possible, she does invest some of it, she pointed out in one episode she owns most of the properties in a certain road. If you are daft enough to even stand outside her shop then you are fair game into being sold something, going inside is fatal, don't even think of asking for a refund, even if the item is defective, consumer law does not apply, remember Truly being sold a duff lawnmower, she explained it was good except for 1 hour a week.
"Serenade for Tight Jeans and Metal Detector." Although, I don't believe they ever show that shopkeeper. Definitely one of Clarke's staple characters. There's also an earlier episode of SW with a secondhand shop where the shopkeeper sells people things they don't want.
