How much it costs to travel by bus from Huddersfield to Holmfirth?

Evening all,

We are planning a trip to UK and Holmfirth this August. Last time in Holmfirth we stayed at Old Bridge hotel, but now it -- like all other hotels in Holmfirth -- will charge full price at booking time i.e. 8 months in advance. I'm not willing to tie our limited funds yet. We have found some hotels in Huddersfield that will charge at arrival time, and that are affordable, and that we can cancel without penalty say one month before arrival (we are using Booking.com).

Now the question: If we wish to travel from Huddersfield to Holmfirth and back by bus (310 I belive is the route) how much it costs? I've tried to find this info from www.firstgroup.com web site but no luck. The route planner gives all times and walking distances, but not the fares. Are the fares so figh they would scare away all would be passengers or why they do not tell us the fares?

Please advice/help!!!

Will there be organized tours at Sid's cafe to locations this summer too? For how much?

I am advised by local that the fare return is £4.50p and you can buy a day rider and travel elsewhere on the same day for £4.10p, also the buses from Holmfirth town to Huddersfield are the 310,314 and 316

For my most recent trip, I got an M-card, (https://www.m-card.co.uk/). Because I was staying in Holmfirth for a week and planning to use the bus system daily, I loaded it with a week's travel at a kiosk at the Huddersfield bus station upon my arrival. At £4.10 per day rider ticket, the £24 weekly ticket more than paid for itself.

Great question, Pekka. Also great answers. This helps in my trip planning as well. Thank you.

Dear maltrab and Marianna,

Thank you for your mails. So, there is no single journey ticket, only (to me, very affordable) day ticket and Huddersfield and Holmfirth are just one great zone. I do think www.firstgroup.com should have made it a bit clearer for casual traveller / website visitor -- no?

Sad that the Old Bridge has changed the charging policy. We very much liked to stay at Old bridge in 2015 -- the food was really superb!

Any news about the sightseeing/filming-location-seeing bus tours? In 2015 we stayed only one night and arrived so late we missed the tour, and due to our foolish timetable we could not stay long enough to attend one in the morning :(

Hi Pekka, is this what you are looking for?

This one says 11am - 4pm https://www.holmfirthevents.co.uk/place/summer-wine-tour-bus/

This one says they start 11 / 11:30 ish https://summerwinetours.co.uk/

Here are some thoughts of those who have been on it.

It is a tour I am definitely planning to take when I get there.
