I wanted to wish all our members a very Happy New Year and I hope 2015 is kind to you all,a special Thanks to Tony (Cornishman) for keeping us safe and secure with all the software changes and tonight his doctor told me he is feeling a little better and may be out of the padded cell in the next few weeks ;)
Also Thanks to Pearl for keeping an eye on everything and keeping the odd member in check,I won't mention any names (Dick), who has kept us amused time and time again

A sad year with the loss of George after a long illness his memory will be with us for a long long time

Terry

I think its a little unfair to call Dick odd, potty yes! But odd?

Happy New Year to you too Terry and keep taking the pills Tony ;)

Happy New Year to everyone. :respect:

I'll be raving the night away with a mug of cocoa and a good book, I know I know, how do I keep up this rich excitement I hear you ask! 8)

George will be missed for a long time, bless him. I still see jokes and go to post them on his wall.

'... lang may yer lum reek.'

Had to look up the last two words in that one!. So does 'Auld Reekie', the old nickname for Edinburgh, translate to 'old smoky'?

Marianna

Auld Lang Syne

Should Old Acquaintance be forgot,
and never thought upon;
The flames of Love extinguished,
and fully past and gone:
Is thy sweet Heart now grown so cold,
that loving Breast of thine;
That thou canst never once reflect
On Old long syne.

CHORUS:
On Old long syne my Jo,
On Old long syne,
That thou canst never once reflect,
On Old long syne.

I truly beg forgiveness if this is offensive to anyone.

The More Traditional Version (as sung in Scotland)

Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak' a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere!
and gie's a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak' a right gude-willie waught,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

The cross body grasping of hands should not occur until that second verse (but is frequently done too early)
