Aeriel shots in older films and shows would have been prohibitively expensive in years gone by I know the drones they use a more sophisticated than those you can by over the counter but imagine the cost over those in days gone have shrunk significantly

It is not just the drone cost these days, any drone over 250 grams requires a licence, which is obtained by spending money on a course and exam, then impressive insurance cover, even then for most area's you have to file a flight plan, like any other aerial vehicle

The pavements and streets are much cleaner in that shot than they were when the Google Streetview photos were made.
