Sadly it was throat cancer which was to kill him. Tony Melody did the dubbing.

I agree He did a very good job with the dubbing. Sid was a great character, missed Him in later episodes.

Shame, I really love Sid and Ivy together, they could of gone on for years with some great scenes

He was the landlord in "The Second Husband and the Showgirls".

Tony Barton did two episodes as a drunk - "A Short Introduction to Cooper's Rules" and "The Crowcroft Challenge" and one as a Landlord, "The Most Powerful Eyeballs in West Yorkshire"
