First of the Summer Wine Cast

I was surprised that over 60% of the cast have either appeared in Emmerdale or Coronation Street

And a good few have appeared in Open All Hours. Roy obviously went back to who he knew for his bit part characters in his 2nd greatest sitcom.
I did always wonder whether Roy had considered making/writing Open All Hours as a little spin off to Summer Wine in that the shop (like the Cafe) was one that some of the regulars and occasionals visited. Mrs. Blewett was pretty much the same character as Nora and some of the waifs and strays who came in were very similar to the feckless loveables that we met in Summer Wine.
