Not having TV I wait until the DVD is released but this week I was at my daughters house waiting for a service engineer to call and the first of the new series was on, I only caught it towards the end, it looked like a choir with a young girl singing Abide with me, the was really lovely and it faded into the credits but the singing continued, after a few seconds the BBC could not help themselves and talked all over it with what is on next etc, not having live TV for over 5 years I had forgotten how bad the companies were at doing this

I hate watching news reports with the studio talking over the interviewee, I don't swear much but I swear at them.

I do like Father Brown myself, a nice gentle programme I love the location. LOTSW could have been set in the Cotswalds....

Sadly it happens in real life you're in a conversation and someone has to intercede to make their point before the conversation has concluded or when there is a natural break in the conversation . It is a pet hate of mine when people don't have the patience or courtesy to allow you to make your point so I simply stay quiet until they pause for breath or indeed beyond which induces puzzlement in the offending person they wonder why I have suddenly become mute . Sadly its such a common practice now , everywhere you go you hear these verbal jousts all the time .

When that happens to me I say "the voices in my head tell me to burn things" normally everyone goes silent then....

My biggest dislike on TV are the arm-waving section. Two people will be involved in a conversation and the one that is talking is waving their arms in all directions, emphasizing points with their heads and moving about with the idea that all their body movements will convince the other person of what they are saying. The other person will sit there nodding their head. When the person who is talking has finished he/she will then sit back and become a nodder while the person they were talking to will then take over in the arm waving and body gyrations to put their point across. I find it so annoying and switch off the TV or switch over to Peppa Pig. Why can they not just use their mouths for talking instead of turning the programme into a Magnus Pyke wave alike competition? If these people were connected up to the national grid they would produce enough electricity to supply half of Europe.

We had this once before talking about mobile phone users waving arms and pointing to make an observation in their conversations !
