Edith clegg tombstone

In many different episodes it was referenced how all the main characters knew each other and their antics in their school days. Yet there were distances in their real life ages. The acting was so well done though that it was easily believable.
I remember one instance in which Compo was joking about Wally being called "little laughing Walter Batty". Yet Joe Gladwin was much older than them, being born in 1906. So hard to believe he would be 107 were he still alive today.

The Summer Winos addressed this issue on their site. Look at the gravestone picture, then read the postscript at the bottom of the article.

I believe the birth year was not supposed to be fully rendered but I can appreciate their long hard look and take on the subject. Really the first great curiosity of the show.
