Did Leroy know Albert Arkwright?

He hasn't quite morphed into the scheming, miserly character that was Arkwright and ultimately Granville became but clearly the genes will out if they opted for an Arkwright speak Still Still Open All Hours but let's hope not. :)

I seem to recall something about Granville worrying about a repair on the roof (presumably meaning Arkwright was no longer in charge) around the time Leroy was conceived.

Presumably Arkwright, being Arkwright, would be in charge until he died.

I think Leroy was supposed to be about 25 at the start of show - the same age David Jason was supposed to be in the very original OAH pilot.

The SOAH pilot was in 2013.

It's quite possible Arkwright died around the late 1980s.

I also seem to remember something about Nurse Gladys (and possibly other female neighbours, memory is going) looking after the very young Leroy - again suggesting that Arkwright wasn't around.

I don't believe he would have known Leroy.

But this is complete speculation as there simply isn't enough information on the show.

I think this crude and inaccurate guesswork is based on the info given in SOAH pilot (and possibly the Series One episode where Leroy's mother returns). Not too sure. Not watched it lately.

The reference to the hole in the roof always has me think of the episode where Granville believes he has become a father after a 'wild night' at Elsie's (?) party. Where a lady friend of his turns up after being away for some time with a baby carriage. Arkwright comes into the shop with a shotgun thinking they are burglars. Always thought it odd that they did not have the baby screaming after Arkwright bumped the shotgun and fired up into the roof.

On reflection while typing this, when Granville exclaims that was Arkwright's room which just got fired into "You could of been peppered with shot!" Has me now thinking it would not have gone all the way to and through the roof of the building. Shop ceiling which is Arkwright's floor, Arkwright's ceiling which is attic's floor (seen in SOAH) then to Attic ceiling / roof of building. So I just dispelled my original hole in the roof via shotgun theory. Still has me think of this episode, though.
