As Cleggy is turning our favourite scruffy person into a Kamikaze pilot [with the help of a wooly hat.....2 buns....and a pair of glasses that resembled the bottom of a milk bottle Compo satates that he cannot be a kamikaze pilot with a dad named "Wythenshawe"..[who came from Chesterfield apparently]
I can only presume that our fearless fighter pilot must have taken his mum's surname ??????........
We know that his mum was a rag and bone woman [according to Compo]....so I presume she must have taken a fancy to someone whilst doing the rounds...
I am sure one of my fellow Summerwine family members can shed some light on this mystery.

You can actually see Compos Mum if you watch 1st of the summer wine. She goes down the street with a cart shouting 'rag bone'.
 
Wythenshawe… 8 miles south of Manchester . Created in the ‘30’s as a garden city and then took Manchester’s overspill.
