Argos has a Christmas Tree up already

To qualify my  I understand it to a point , the High Street continues to struggle so they need to boost footfall and sales anyway they can , it almost becomes a one upmanship contest who can start first . I had similar over a month ago at a local pub/restaurant , as I walked through the door the Manager was setting up a tree and display promoting Xmas lunches and menus have been available all over for some time, again because hospitality are struggling . The anger comes from the fact that in my earliest memories it was a time of awe and magic and now it has become a yawn by the time the main day arrives which I find really sad ,

I remember when Christmas started with the arrival of the Sears & Roebuck Christmas catalog. Seems as though it was shortly before Thanksgiving (last Thursday in November, for friends across the pond.)

My local Argos inside sainsbury's has a Christmas tree up already. Seriously. And Sky are showing Christmas movies. Not even had Halloween yet . Sounding like a Crum now
Here across the Pond, Walmart already has ALL of its Christmas stuff out. Kind of strange to see decorated Christmas trees when the leaves are only beginning to turn.
