I watched an old Rock Follies which was screened by ITV, it was a hour long show and after the adverts were removed it was 52 minutes back in 1976,these days they stick around 16 minutes of adverts per hour,and the ITV soaps manage to chop out 10 mins for adverts in a 30 minute show,so 20 mins in 1 hour,I know it is not as bad as some US tv channels but it is heading that way
 
This doesn't always happen inn Britain. It is disgusting. You tend to forget what you were watching. But now there was something said by the EU that they have to cut down on adverts. Hope so.
 
The interesting thing about this is the fact that if you use " replay" of any adverted programme you will often find the replay ( eg ITV player ) a Lewis for instance can be watched in 1 hr 25 mins or 1-30mins.
 
In malta they have done all the adverts in the beginning of the show and leaves you in peace to watch whatever yolu wre watching. But this isn't a common thing. Only on certain programmes.
