    LOTSW abroad

Is Last of the Summer Wine popular abroad like other British comedies? I wonder what the French, Germans and Americans would make of Compo's pursuit of Nora Batty?

    Michael Aldridge

Why did he quit LOTSW? The charactar of Seymoor was just beginning to be accepted and people were forgetting about Foggy, did he have some disagreement with the cast or Roy Clarke? Was it ill health? Perhaps he could have returned a second time like Brian Wilde, had he not died in 1994.

    Loxley Lozange

Love this particular episode, shows how things would have worked with Foggy had Brian Wilde not chosen to quit to persue other projects, the reins were taken up in the 1990s when Foggy returned. The three walking off into the sunset in the end credits was another nice touch.

    Ever Decreasing Circles

Caught a repeat of an episode of this 80s sitcom the other day, I'd forgotten how good it was, comedy in a claustophobic goldfish bowl close. Richard Briers, Penolope Wilton and Peter Egan all showed excellent performances.

    Captain Clutterbuck

Recently watched this episode, can't believe that people thought this was the worst episode, I quite liked it, the way the conman uses Foggy's gullability to get him to part with money for a map. Also wasn't Clutterbuck the name of the guy who was the human canonball in a previous episode...

    Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson, what a clown I just don't get him, Londoners seem to love him. The breakfast presented on talksport seems to think he should be PM, god I don't know why I listen to the rubbish that station spews out.

    LOSW Stage Show

Did the LOSW stage show ever happen in the 1980s? I know Bill Owen wanted to do it, but that Brian Wilde refused to appear in it, did it ever go ahead, did anyone ever see it and who took the Foggy part in the show.

    Julie T Wallace (Mrs Avery)

What happened to her, she just disappeared in 2002, did she leave the programme or was she sacked?

    Brian Wilde

Couldn't they have written him back into the programme after the death of Bill Owen, I think Foggy and Truly in the show, maybe bullying Cleggy and Tom into things like bicycle polo or into testing machines built by Wesley would have worked, although it was going to be a tough ask making up for...

    HI, another newbie

Hi, just writing to say hello, I'm in my late thirties and have loved the show since childhood, despite all my friends thinking this is a little odd. Love your forum and can't wait to get involved

    Favourite Third Man

Who do you think was the best of the Summer Wines third man, up until Truly of the Yard it is easy to list them, after Bill Owens death I've added all the new characters, not sure which ones would be considered as third men. I add Foggy's second stint as I think the character had changed in the...
