    cant help there cciaffone, but isn't hawes a beautiful place in wensleydale....spent my formative years in and around there, and to top it all the home of wensleydale cheese as in Wallace and gromit and of course the peter sallies link......I'm sure you will have a brilliant time :D

    moving on from "glendas skirts"...heres a thought...how many times have we seen couples in bed together, not many I think... I remember edie and Wesley in bed in father of the bride and ivy and sid in getting sam home, and howard and pearl in an episode I cant bring to mind...don't think there...

    true philosopher, they would have been on the social....foggys pension would have been poor and cleggs an absolute pittance..i suppose being in their early to mid fifties today they would all have been classed as scroungers..we all knew compo was and accepted it through the programme....

    we did see Glenda in a red evening dress and an Egyptian costume, but agreed, rare to see her in anything but a dowdy skirt and a very middle aged top, even when she was in her thirties...grew into them though !! :)

    Last Wally??

    a wonderful actor, typecast because of his accent, but it served him well, unlike bill owen who managed a very good Yorkshire accent for a guy who came from London and spoke quite eloquently when interviewed, joe gladwyn was what you saw (or heard) was what you got.
