I first saw a story about him yesterday on yahoo, and it took a minute or two to realize that it was the same little big George from this forum! That was neat!
Thank you for all the nice birthday greetings! I'm watching LOTSW right now on the local PBS station, the "Jubilee" episode from 1977 (I think that was the year.) A good way to spend a birthday!
My first car was a 1971 Chevrolet Vega, dark green notchback with beige interior. Vegas did not last too long, as I don't think their aluminum engines proved to be very popular!
We have it here in Minnesota on PBS--two episodes every day! In a few days they will broadcast the very last episode, and then start all over with Compo, Clegg, and Blamire. It's a never-ending cycle, a very good one!
I just read that Punxsutawney Phil (the famous groundhog) did not see his shadow, so spring should come early. As the temperature outside right now is 1 F (-17 C), I find that hard to believe!
I would love to see him in Scrooge! He's been doing that every Christmas season for quite a while now. As for his age, he was 76 in December! I first became "acquainted" with him way way back in 1968, when he was in Disney's "The Happiest Millionaire."
I was just wondering if anyone here besides me is a Tommy Steele fan. I can picture him singing and dancing his way around Holmfirth! He's been one of my favorites for many years, and I joined a Tommy Steele fan club on yahoo.
