It is 'snowing' Christmas catalogues in my part of the world. And I read that Asda have their decorations on sale.

I have been a part of our Royal British Legion Club for a long time, Unc. I played bowls for them for 20 years and more. My children and grandchildren are a big part of it as well. I don't play anymore, but I still make scones for big events!!

Can I ask here, if I change my IP, and obviously my e-mail address, do I have to register again. I am a bit dim sometimes about these things.

Legionairs are reasonable people Unc. If they had been asked politely, they would have made room for him. It is the attitude that upsets people. I can't like a man who has to whine and grizzle to his friends about not getting a Knighthood, until he gets his way.

    Compo and Foggy's Military Backgrounds?

My dad only told the funny stories. He was all over, North Africa, included. He and his mates sold some beer to a group of Arabs under cover of darkness. This was fine until the Arabs brought the bottles back, in broad daylight!!! Not such a good thing after all. He also told of being asked by...

I wote this out yesterday, but my internet connection keeps failing so it did not post. A group of golfers from our local RBL Club went up to Wentworth for the day. They paid well over £100 to play. They were on the first green and ready to start when Bruce Forsyth and his wife roared up in a...

    Postal Price increases

They cheat us as well. Because the stamps don't have a value written on them anymore I didn't realise that a first class stamp would be so expensive. I am starting to buy a book a month for Christmas cards.

I agree Susan. It has been one of the best shows for many a year. Thank goodness for Lewis and George Gently.

I have the feeling I may be the oldest member here, not sure if this is good or bad. We are both retired, but I always feel that retirement is wasted on us oldies. I could have done with it ten years ago.

    What's Up With New Tricks??

It was a bit strange. James Bolam had announced some time ago that he was not going to carry on with the show. They seem to have persuaded him to do one last episode. I won't spoil it for anyone by telling you just how Jack left, and I need to watch again to understand the plot properly. I am...
