    I think it was half they liked the taste and half they wanted to appear a cut above. One episode Compo dismisses it as 'posh potted meat',or something like that. Can't recall whether that line is from 'Pate' And Chips' or 'The Waist Land'. Must admit IMO its great on French Stick

    Just rewatched The Woolenmills Of Your Mind and noticed Compo kissing Clegg's head. He did the same to Foggy in The Frozen Turkey Man. Was ths Bill Owen improvising,or in the scripts?I suspect improvised as in TFTM the barmaid is tryng hard not to laugh
