Adverts

I am noticing many adverts now on YouTube and Social media stating everybody is buying this, even major car review sites state "Why is everyone buying this car" when often you struggle to see one on the road while your out and about.

It also seems that many YouTube sites are advertising a sponsored product during the video, one I noticed said you could get 20% off using their code, yet going direct you can get a better deal

I've had my TV tuned to YouTube with ambient scenes playing, mostly rain and snow and most play for 8 hours straight with no adverts but I'm getting the odd one that stops for adverts which really annoys me so I just turn it off and look for another one, I'm hoping YouTube will get the message and stop playing them but that's not going to happen!

If the YouTube channel is monetised, the channel owner decides whether to have 'mid-roll' adverts or not. They can choose where to place them. However, YT has introduced 'AI' Ad placement by default - you have to disable it on each video if you want to choose your own ad breaks. Existing videos will now have ads placed by AI, if mid-roll ads not specifically disabled. I'm sure *many* YouTubers do not know about the automatic AI placement of adverts, so they won't know where the ads will appear. I have found the AI is notoriously bad at placement. It often places <advert for car you cannot afford and would never buy> ads in the middle of sentences. AI will remove channel owners suggested placements if it thinks they disrupt the video!
I put my ad breaks in obvious breaks in my videos - that's partly why I split them up with a title card and music sting.
