Thank goodness for that, I'm worried Terry is going to sell it to Steptoe & Son for a bunch of balloons

At my local Social Club the concert chairman was of Romany extract and went by the name Gypsy Joe , the comedians all used to rip it out of him with lines like "New suit Joe , must have cost you a few clothes pegs for that"

So the thicket that was that piece of land has now been tackled today, I'm going to aim to keep it less unkempt!

Hopefully some of the members here will feel welcome to visit and maybe camp over, I know I'm planning on staying over next year and sleeping in my Land Rover to wake up to the best view in Yorkshire!

Wow, well done that man, that took more than a bit of doing. Any treacle tins turn up? . Guess it's a bit chilly up there at the mo, snow forecast.

I have to admit I sent a gardener up to sort it out as I'd have probably cut off my foot! He did say he'll return in the summer to keep on top of it!

I hope to see pictures of your camper van stopping over sometime!

BTW there is a combination lock on there, anyone wanting to access please private message me.

Well first time camping on the land, apart from being a bit chilly had a lovely walk down to the White Horse for a lovely meal and it's only takes about 20 mins so was closer than I thought! Deathly quiet at night so takes some getting used to. Second picture is the view I woke up to this morning, hopefully myself and other barmpots may follow suit in the future.....

I still cannot see the shower block

Here's Barry welcoming some guests to the site suspect everything has gone up no longer " A pand" . Barry could you possibly be selling accoutrements for the " shower" for example Shampoo and will it be "A pand ten" :fp:

Thanks CC, love that scene, I've watched that film umpteen times. Everything leads back to LOTSW, Peter Butterworths son Tyler played Mr Chiselhurst in In Which Romance Isn't Dead - Just Incompetent and I also saw Tyler on Talking Pictures TV where he actually took the very hat Peter was wearing in that scene to show Andrew Ross who was presenting!

its a bit annoying how the google maps car has not been there since 2009 but a nice peace of land regardless.
Also, even though Intake Lane and Hirst Lane (also Scaly Gate - unsuitable for most vehicles) are named on Google Maps, if you search for "Intake Lane" (on Google Maps) you will not get *this* Intake Lane as a result. There are several other "Intake Lanes" in the general area, you *will* get one of those. If you search for Hirst Lane, Google can find the correct one, but will give you directions to access it via Gate Foot Lane - the end of Hirst Lane that is blocked off (and resembles a stream).

So if you are travelling to Intake Lane using Google, search for "Scar Hole Lane", then (depending which direction you are travelling) you will find Intake Lane at a junction where Scar Hole Lane meets Dick Edge Lane.
[Really - don't blame me for the suggestive road names!]
