Question

As yet the program I am referring to has not been mentioned. I rather expected that y'all would have leapt on this.
Whilst I am here I would like to inform you that my recent illness was not caused by that horrible molecular bad germ called 'covid'.
I will leave you now to ponder over my question. Hey, in this short message there are three more clues. :29:....Or is it four?
I was going to add another name but was too indecisive. Eventually I decided to do that which I was contemplating and give you the name. Can you find it? :41:

Well that's one of my favourite films ever I know it so well but stuff my boots I never associated Arnold Stang and Marvin Kaplin from the film as being the voices of TC and Choo-choo . In my defence I have never invested the effort I put into LOTSW into that film I simply love to watch it so an absolute huge thank you Eithne for imparting that piece of knowledge . I am going to watch it again with fresh eyes

Marvin Kaplin was an interesting character actor in his own right.
Jonathan was one of a kind. If you have not heard them before, you might look up Bob Newhart, The Smother's Brothers, and Stan Freburg. I know you like music Captain, so you'd probably enjoy Spike Jones as well.

I know of all but Stan Freburg , Bob Newhart's show and the Smothers Brothers were regularly seen on UK TV way back when but thank you very much for the information.

"Hi, I'm Larry. This is my brother Darryl and this is my other brother Darryl." :rolling: :29:

I know that is from Newhart instead of The Bob Newhart Show but still get a chuckle when I think about it. :21:

A blast from the past. Thanks, I had forgotten about those shows.

I grew up with the Bob Newhart Show, if you can find his record albums and original stand-up work, maybe on YouTube its funnier than either show.

Captain, Stan Freburg started out as a puppeteer for Beeny and Cecil, most of his work will be found on record albums, and some bits and pieces are on YouTube. Look especially for "Elderly Man River", or "Green Christmas" for an introduction to his style. He guest stared on the Monkees as the cranky toy manufacturer as Nesmith was a huge fan of his, and later he became an ad man and was responsible for the California Prune commercial "Brave New Prune".
He had fabulous people working with him like June Foray and Daws Butler, both of whose voices I'm sure you will recognize. June was Rocky J. Squirrel. Daws was practically the whole Hanna-Barbera line-up.

Thank you so much Eithne I am very impressed with your knowledge you are clearly passionate about these outstanding talents. Stan and Bob Newhart have all sorts of albums, including best of, on Spotify so I will be able to give them a listen .

Great recommendation, if not for the cartoon itself, the great talent involved. Arnold Stang (Top Cat) and Marvin Kaplin (Choo-choo) may be remembered along with comedian Jonathan Winters as the three nut-case gas station attendants in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

Just one final thing about Top Cat and the link with Sgt Bilko I completely forgot to mention Maurice Gosfield who was the voice of Benny the Ball in Top Cat and of course was the long suffering Private Doberman in Sgt Bilko this is a great photo .
