Could this be heaven?

My boss and I were on one of our virtual walks this morning. We were being walked, by the cameraman, through one of the most stunning places in the UK, Polperro in Cornwall. I couldn't help thinking, is heaven as beautiful as this? It is so peaceful, so tranquil, so quiet and so picturesque. My mind was occupied with the idea of heaven when, 12 minutes and 17 seconds into the video I saw what surely must be one of the most famous angels in heaven. The sighting was very brief but my eyes fair popped out of my head. Could that be HIM, is it you know who? NAH, surely I'm seeing things. I rewound the video and took a photo. Is that man who I think it is? Have I snuffed it and gone to heaven? Do you think I'm putting too much sugar on my Weetabix?
Take a look at the video and let me know what you think!

Sorry, error with video. I have spent two days trying to get this right. My brain has finally succumbed to old age.

I’m a firm believer that every town and village in the UK has at least one similar person/ character in it. Usually found in the locals pub. I think when tourists come to our village I’m the bloke with the dog who talks to anyone/ everyone :p

I enjoyed it but it was far from calming and relaxing for me so many people, definitely not a place to visit during the peak summer months because it would just be crammed . After we have all locked down with Covid its easy to see why people would go in their droves to places in Cornwall and it brings home why locals were so irate about the risks of bringing Covid to Cornwall but the sheer beauty of places like Polperro are their own worst enemy because you can see why people are attracted to going there.

Absolutely spot on Captain !!!..
Another MAJOR problem in Cornwall is the number of houses that are second homes for the affluent London elite/celebrities etc....
The prices ae so high that it means that local people are priced out of buying, and have to move further afield [or stay living with their parents !!].
The Cornish have always though of themselves as separated from England...they have their own flag and language and are wary of outsiders.
As you say...the beauty of the county is its own worst enemy...the whole road network was not built for the massive volumes of traffic who arrive for at least 7 months of the year.
p.s. I won't mention the footy Captain !!!.
x!

Re Footy not unexpected and William Hill would have given huge odds if someone was stupid enough to bet on Ronaldo NOT scoring . I watched a documentary about the Cornish Fishing industry and they highlighted it . Whilst their boats are moored in often picturesque harbours the adjacent Fishermen's cottage were occupied by the " Jeremy and Jemima brigade all Aperol Spritzers and Canapes " so when they go to Sea they have to drive miles to get to their boats.

I know it brings welcome income to local businesses who would go under otherwise but at what price . I have friends who live on the North East Coast and they often dread Sunny Days because that equals the population of Newcastle jumping in the car or train and heading to the Coast . At one time they enjoyed a peaceful time during Autumn and post Christmas but now especially with the milder weather its an all year occurrence .

You travel aswell Peri. Just spotted you in 'Destiny & six bananas' getting on the bus.
Looking back I expect that now seems like a Heavenly time.

If you were by any chance a "Hoofer" Peri you'd have been a shoe in as an extra in the Short Blast of Fred Astaire episode , you'd be puttin on your top hat , tyin up your white tie , brushin up your tails ! ........................ unless of course you were the dancing Santa who comes on when they are all dancing at the bus stop with Lionel Blair :):)

That dancing Santa was very good Captain. I wasn't a hoofer but for a while I did teach disco dancing. That was quite easy. I used to point at my feet and tell my pupils 'Disco here and Disco there'. I was pretty good at it. One night the manager at the local night club sent for me and told me to stop dancing because everyone was watching me and my partner instead of dancing and spending money on drinks. He said that his takings were down since we started going to his club. Sounds silly but that is a true story. The nearest I get to disco dancing these days is taking my medicine and STAYING ALIVE.:37::37::37:

Yeah it was something to remember Graham but, regretfully, I didn't do much travelling, I'd left my bus pass at home and the inspector, some guy called Smiler:20: told me to get off his bus :cry2:.
