Least favourite characters

For me it's Mrs Avery and Tom's daughter. They seem quite misjudged for the show and thankfully weren't in it for long.

I believe she was Ms. Avery's niece which she was looking after, not her and Tom's daughter.

My least favorite I can easily think of is the tramp in the special episode that I can't recall at the moment.

I am having the odd memory hiccup lately , but that could BIG DAY AT DREAM ACRES ! One of my least favorites Rick !!:08:

The only characters I weren't fond of were Toby and the Captain during the Hobbo years. Toby the debt collector and the Captain as the lead golfer always aggravated by Barry in the earlier years were good.

I like Howard and Marina, but their story was a little too repetitive after a while.

Alvin was just OK. I can't say I liked him as much as the other barmpots.

Can't stand Hobbo. The first episode he was in made my skin crawl. And he suddenly moves into (?) has always lived (?) in the house a few doors down from Cleggy's. When they show him entering his house, he and a bunch of others walk past Cleggy's house with no acknowledgement or notice. As a note, it was probably very easy to obtain permission to use the house since they were already filming on that street, but it never worked that Cleggy's house is suddenly ignored. Also, as I understand it, the Hobbo character was just cut and pasted from something else that he had done. Still not a good fit.

I didn't care much for The Hefty in Variations on a Theme of Road Rage. Good thing Pearl lined him out!

Every time Ely appeared the fast forward button would get worn out!
And lately Glenda is starting to wear me out.

Hi Cod, Toby was the captain, I think you're thinking of Morton.

Eli grinds my gears, Glenda was ok in the early episodes but in the later ones she was way to whiny. Babs the niece was just a huge no but Mrs Avery grow on me a bit.
Hobo was a big no too and I didn't like Stella or Alvin and Billy was annoying too.
Bet you wish you hadn't asked now!

I didn't much like Ros. I found her tales of past affairs became boring. Nelly was quite annoying too with her calls to Travis.

I mentioned before that I think some of the dislikings for Eli were psychological. Especially towards the end, they play this silly music when Eli appeared. They were better off not doing that. I think someone could see Eli and subconsciously link him to that music, causing a disliking.

While Nelly wasn't the greatest character, I personally like the idea of a husband so needy, he has to consult his wife with everything. It kind of goes with Roy Clarke's line of wife-dominant couples!

He may have been able to charm the birds.....and a little obin NEARLY sat on his cap...BUT no wonder his wife ran off with a Turkish waiter !!!...Wendel [or however you spell it !!!!]....NOT FOR ME !!!!.

As I've said before, I don't much care for the series after Foggy's final episode (A Sidecar named Desire) so virtually everything afterwards. I think the show should have ended when Foggy left, or at least when when Compo died..

I know he was mate....I just thought that the acting was substandard, and overall, the episode was a poor one.
I just thought the story was weak.

It's fun to see who thinks what about the characters. I quite liked Alvin and thought Brian Murphy played it well, and the contrast in his approach to Nora compared to Compo was enjoyable.
