Father Brown is Back ! !

Pretty much the same cast as before, including Sorcha Cusack,
one of my all-time favorites. Really good show tonight.

I still do not understand why they put these shows on at 2:15
in the afternoon. These are fine, well written, well acted adult
murder mysteries. Not intended for third-graders on the way
home from school. I really cannot argue, because it means I
can download them easier and earlier, but I still do not
understand.

The PBS station in this area broadcasts Father Brown at 9 PM on Saturdays, between Midsomer Murders and Spy. I enjoy the first two shows, but gave up on Spy part way through the first episode.

Thank you Marianna, but my question remains: Howcum the Brits air
the First Edition of these programs in mid-afternoon? I can understand
how they might re-broadcast (which is what PBS does) a program
at an odd time. Really would think that they would air the original
broadcast at a time when it would generate some capital for
the originating station/network. What am I missing here???

I assumed the 'they' in your prior message was your local PBS station, not a broadcaster in the UK. I agree that mid-afternoon is a very strange time to broadcast a show containing references to violent death and the occasional obliquely presented adult situation. That kind of thing doesn't go over children's heads.

Yep, I am downloading off the UK sources so this is the very latest
newest, only partially aired new Father Brown series. No idea when
it would be shown on PBS.

btw - unlike most UK TV series that have a run of maybe 6 to 8 episodes,
this Father Brown series will run to maybe 15 episodes if IMDB is to be believed.
Quelle Difference.

Not only are the BBC showing them at the mid-afternoon slot, but they are on every day rather than spread over the weeks, so we have to wait longer for the next series!

Yeah, while convenient for me to download them daily, can't be
terribly convenient for UK adults who would like to watch them.
Maybe catch them on DAVE in some future time??
