Have you seen Clarence? Another Ronnie Barker comedy that wasn't a major success at the time but I'm wondering whether it's worth a watch?

Not a TV series, but apart from the mock violence Laurel & Hardy was not offensive and had a nice surreal quality at times.

On the subject of both Gentle Comedies & Film Locations, I only recently discovered Green Green Grass was actually filmed at John Challis's real home!

Clarence with Ronnie Barker has already been mentioned. Roy Clarke's The Magnificent Evans with Ronnie Barker is also very mellow and worth a look.

This is presently on Forces TV on ch181 I've seen a few episodes. On the subject of Fresh Fields is the later spin off French Fields just as good?
