Auntie would set our erstwhile trio to work and she would charge them for the privilege. It would be a particularly disheartening task for Mr Utterthwaite as everytime he thought it was over he would see more to do! 
Nora, Ivy and Pearl wouldn't hesitate to clear up. At every party there's the usual group that just do it automatically and those that disappear to the bathroom.
It's usually a good laugh being the kitchen with other woman washing up, we take the micky out of those that went to the bathroom.

I don't think Wesley would be allowed to touch the dishes as Clegg, Compo, Seymour and Howard would have to clean them over and over again trying to get the grease and oil off them.
I am quite surprised that Pearl let Howard stand next to Marina though.

They did sit next to each other in church in Uncle of the Bride. I think Pearl sees it as form of torture, Howard dare not move muscle it's like position stress torture.
