Thanks for that, it seemed the main index.php was corrupted luckily I had a backup so I could restore it,at first it appeared to be a fault with the hosting company and it took them ages to come back to me to say all was well their end,so I had to start with all the files that could be faulty and replace them,thank goodness for backups
