This clip I uploaded to YouTube 10 years ago is one of my favourite scenes. At more than 4 mins, 40 secs long it maybe wasn't all one take but it's so well executed it would be easy to believe that it was. Brilliant

Still say this was a great era of the show
In my [very humble] opinion the "date and walnut cake" scene is one of the best interaction scenes in the whole of our wonderful series.
Bill was absolutely PERFECT !!!!......the dialogue between the 3 is absolutely faultless and perfectly acted out.
You can see by their faces that the "gang" are really at one......Michael galvanised both Bill and Peter....and really made them "enjoy" being part of something so special......something that will still be funny and such wonderful observational comedy in the decades to come.
Compo's face when he finishes his monologue...saying...."THA'S NEVER LIVED !!!!" is an absolute thing of beauty !!!!...absolute genius !!!.
