Something for our US cousins.
I am intrigued that this championship finishes today, a Monday, and not yesterday, a Sunday. I could understand it if it were a holiday Monday, like last Monday, Labour Day. Most of our big tournaments finish on a Sunday except when there is a holiday Monday - for example, World Championship Snooker at The Crucible finishes on a public holiday Monday, first Monday in May, our Labour Day.
Is this non holiday Monday finish normal for this championship?
