The origanal homes of Clegg and Howard ,are they still there and are they close to the town centre?
 
Yes and yes I think Chris. As I recall, if you stepped out of the Cafe, looked right they were higher up in that direction and not all that far away. Or I could be lying....
 
That building is still there! Start at Sid's cafe,across to the church,
right up the multi-level stairway with steel railings. Follow along
up the hill. You can see the front of the building from below,
but once you are up it's hard to tell. You will come around to
the right to the BACK of the building (which I don't think was
ever shown). There are wooden gates and all to keep you
from seeing the front of the building. Last time I was there,
the back wall of the building was sorta bluish.

Problem is, the gate is always locked so you cannot
get around to the front of the house, and there are
trees and such to either side. Better town view is to
continue up the hill to Cliff Bank. Loads of great views
from up there.
 
I don't recall the outside of the house but the wallpaper was extremely ugly. I don't know whether this was an actual interior or whether this was done in the studio.
 
Pretty much all the interiors were shot in the studio,
except those few shots from inside Clegg's last house
thru the door to the yard outside. Sometimes you will
even see the neighbor's dog trot by.
