Going back to First of the Summerwine era, some of those chaps will have joined the Navy and perhaps if the were lucky enough to get across the Atlantic Ocean they might have made a visit to SID'S NEW YORK STEAK EMPORIUM before catching a show with Betty Grable or Joan Crawford.

Dear Mum,

I found a nice little eating place.
Introduced myself to the Martini craze.
Olives and Oysters, my appertite did tease.
Then two Porterhouse medium, my good man please.

Meat is on ration way back home.
But here I can get a juicey T Bone.
The porter house steak gets my attention.
Seared nicely to a notion of perfection.

Steak ribs and juicey chops.
Compromises nothing in taste.
Sizzling and falling off the bone.
A meat lovers dream away from home.

Garlic roasted broccoli, they didn't hide.
Potatoes butter mashed heaven, I almost cried.
Crunchy crusted onion rings, wonderful things.
Salivating memories and tears I had to hide.

Devouring all, the bovine blood lust was satisfied.
Dinning in comfort the Napkins used as supplied.
Aquire the sweet menu.. Room for Apple Pie and cream.
Sat at this round table, I'd found a living dream.

Steak ribs and juicey chops.
compromises nothing in taste.
Sizzling and falling off the bone.
A meat lovers dream away from home.

P.s Can you lend me 10/- , If you can send me a Postal Order.

Love
George x
