there was a small piece in the daily mail 2day about julie t wallace and she gives a reason why she left summer wine, she says "i didnt like mrs avery in last of the summer wine, i enjoyed the cast and crew but didnt like the director" so it looks like a fall out with alan bell was the reason she left
