Was the bloke who played Davenport in "Diversions with Davenport" also Del's dad in an episode of Only Fools and Horses?

Davenport was played by Jack Smethurst. He was in a lot of shows but I don't think he was in Only Fools and Horses.

Maybe it was partly his voice and wearing a hat that obscured his full appearance that reminded me of Del's dad.
