Unfortunately my wife has had to return her driving licence to Swansea for medical reasons; the intriguing fact being that I have been asked for an extra £51.64 in premium because as the only driver I am a greater risk.
How can I be a greater risk? Any actuarial experts out there?
She had not driven for over six months and the car usage is not going to change, my driving will not alter . My son does not have a licence so can not put him on either, but he would be too young anyway!
Am I suddenly going to develop boy racer tendencies because no one else is sharing the driving?
I can not help feel that I am missing something here.
The whole event was not helped by the individual at the other end of the telephone keep telling me "he could see where I was coming from" but not really answering the question as to why. I suspect that he was using a script which they hope will not irritate the customers too much - trouble is it did not work! Obviously he did not know so who does?
