BERT WEEDON . Author of the "Play in a Day "guitar book has died age 91.The man who influenced a lot of rock stars has now gone ! :'(
 
I remember he was responsible for many to take up the guitar with his 'play in a day' scheme (did not work for me though).

Another sad loss ..
 
You're not having much luck these last two days Dick, what with this fella and the one out of The Band. I hadn't heard of either to be honest.
 
Yep, i can remember him being on telly quite a bit in the 60's, i didn't get the book either but i did progress into a reasonable guitarist eventually.

We've had a few deaths and anniversaries of deaths and Birthdays recently from the rock/music world. John Lennon and Bob Marley a couple of months ago and Kurt Cobain of Nirvana recently. RIP al of you.
 
It seems as if many of the iconic names of my youth, and of some of the others here of a certain age, are all passing on these days. Quite sad.
