Has anyone had any bother with the new polymer banknotes? I seem to have had a few lately that are either splitting or already have Sellotape mends !

The only problem I have had with them is that I spend them too quick

Like Compo , only the Lady Godiva's give me trouble they keep tricking me into putting them on a horse [fully clothed of course don't want to be arrested at Ladbrokes ] sadly the horse never seems to win at the moment .

I haven't had any splitting (yet), but find that they don't stay folded very well.

They stick together too, it's easy to part with 2 instead of one. The hate them, they look cheap and nasty but washing them by accident isn't a problem now.

I hardly ever use cash these days, contactless is sooo easy and you don't end up with pockets full of change weighing you down !

Until the machines go down then you are a bit stuck . Happened in my local Supermarket and having cash was a godsend as I was able to walk to the front of the till queue and purchase my stuff whilst others stood around bemused of how they were going to pay and berating the poor staff for their system going down .
