Before I joined the fire service, I worked in the fire and ambulance workshops, at the time I had a tatty Ford Anglia that was handy for my wife to use for shopping and getting the children back and forth, so I obtained a cheap used Maxi Puch moped, which was 49cc and ideal for me to travel the few miles back and forth to work

The paintwork which was blue was in poor condition and one of the chaps in the workshop offered to respray it for me, the choice was ambulance white, or fire engine red, I went for the red and I was reminded to send the log book off to notify the authorities of the change of colour, this I did and waited for it's return.
You can imagine my surprise when the log book was returned, the moped had been upgraded to a 49cc fire engine, yes that was now the vehicle type, I had to send the log book back 3 times with an explanation letter before it was corrected, happy days
