Barry's first run or second - which was best?

Glenda was always a bit of a marmite character for me. I always felt a bit sorry for Barry in his first run. In his second run he had a much more comical role and he seemed more involved with the boys.

Foggy's first run or second - which was best?

I think sad and pathetic is a bit harsh on poor Foggy, I felt on his second run he was a bit more happy go lucky and less 'stiff' so for me it is his second run. Its funny how peoples views differ as the 1990-97 summer wine era is my favourite era. With (for me) lots of great episodes, stop the...

    Where were you?

I was only five when John Lennon died, I can remember asking my Dad why anyone would want to kill him, my Dad had difficulty in making me understand. Princess Di, I remember getting up early that day going into the living room and turning the telly on, the news was on and a picture of Diana was...

    Brian Wilde

Co stars not always seeing eye to eye seems to be a common thing. I remember watching a documentary about Red Dwarf and Craig Charles saying that at the beginning that he and Chris Barrie could not stand each other, I think they got on better in later series. It's to Brian Wildes and Bill Owens...

    Brian Wilde

Regarding Brian Wilde being an awkward character I think it's important to remember there are two sides to every story. Vines book is just one persons perspective and by all accounts Bill Owen wasn't the easiest person to get along with. He fell out with Michael Bates as well as Brian Wilde...

    Happy 70th Mr Lennon

I wonder if he would still have been married to Yoko and still living in Dakota?. He did once say he would like to retire to Ireland. And just think The Beatles could of made a proper comeback in 1995-96 ;D then Oasis would of been put in there place ;).

    Where were the children???

Yes they did, in an episode of keeping up appearances the postman bribes a young boy to deliver Mrs buckets mail. The episode where Onslow and Daisy's daughter was having her baby christened, we see her holding the child. And a young lad once was seen helping the milkman.

    Is it me

Sorry but I have to totally disagree, I think outnumbered is a brilliant comedy. The youngsters are superb in the series, espically when you consider they have to ad lib alot of the time. Long may it continue.

We demand a Knighthood for Cleggy

I cant see it happening myself sadly. It took the establishment until two years before his death to award Charlie Chaplin a knighthood.

    Rolling with laughter

My speaking clock impression in the episode where they are trying to deliver a bath to marina. And my dancing jig at the end of the episode 'ordeal by trousers'. There are so many laugh out moments it would take forever to describe them all.

Thora Hird did not like Edie

I just watched her biography on the bio channel and she said on the programme that she could not stand her character. She didnt like the way she treated Wesley or talked down to her daughter Glenda, and she couldnt understand quite why she was so mean to her poor husband. People would often...

    A bit shocked.

I must admit i have often had a lump in my throat watching that episode. It certainly seemed to do the trick showing her that episode, and fair play to her also for being willing to give Compo a second go.

    A bit shocked.

In reality if we all knew someone like Compo in real life most people would see him as a pervert and a dirty old man and no one here would be defending his behaviour in fact most would be appalled. The thing is we are not talking about reality we are talking about a character from a programme...
