    Mobile Chip Vans

As an aside did anyone have mobile shop vans in their area at one time. I remember then with great fondness , they sold everything and you could of course get sweets when the shops were closed , I think Supermarkets or perhaps regulations were their death knell.

    Gentle Comedies

I assumed Leroy is Granville's son, there is an episode where Paula Wilcox [her of Man About the House ] turns up playing Leroy's mum and it is implied that Granville is his dad but apologies in advance if I got that wrong.

    Gentle Comedies

My biggest issue with it is Mrs Featherstone romantically chasing Granville when in OAH nothing could be father from that scenario . It didn't warrant a remake becomes very predictable as the series progress and lacks the quality OAH had in the writing. I think personally they should have left...

    Church bells by Sids.

Mention of church bells can't help but make me remember the Time on my Hands episode when the paratrooper is caught on the church clock and Mainwairing's , Jones and Fraser's hat are used to silence the bell to their detriment.

I was in Saltburn last year and will be next week as staying in Whitby and will use the ol' bus pass to travel up on a day trip . Sadly the Funicular was still being repaired last year but I believe it is back in service and is a must to travel on for the sheer admiration of the engineering ...
