Apologies but as we are talking bikes have to post this clip of a chimpanzee on a bike again . It was used on Never Mind The Buzzcocks probably 15 years ago where they alleged that you could play any piece of music with it and it just works but its just funny.
Just watched another fascinating insight into TV of yesteryear with the School sitcoms programme thank you for posting Leigh and expending a huge effort to research them .
I remember Whacko as a child but with corporal punishment still being administered in schools including mine it just seemed...
You'll remember this Rick not the show perhaps but from Red Dwarf when Cat and Lister discuss the show and what happened to Hammy. I have to say it was a much watch for me as a child.
There was one of these polo bikes and its accompanying mallet that was restored on the Repair Shop [Series 14 episode 5] a couple of months back . On the main titles of that series , Tim Gunn, their bicycle guy, features saying he has never seen a wheel rim quite as bent as this one which is...
I am yet again reviving the thread having watched a VE day at 80 special Antiques Roadshow. I would urge anyone to take some time to watch this emotional tribute to those who did and sacrificed so much to help bring the War to an end . It was an emotional rollercoaster of a show which was both...
Just caught controversial 3 another great insight . I am a huge fan of Spike Milligan , he was unique but some of his choices, as you mentioned Curry and Chips and the show you so expertly analysed , do make you wonder if he broke too much ground sometimes . The Q series was extremely...
My local club years ago had a Romany concert chairman and the comic turns took the mick many times mostly involving balloons and pegs along the lines of "Hello !!! Nice to see you have a new suit chairman, that must of cost a few balloons and pegs"
Just caught up with episode 2 thank you Leigh for all the diligent research and work to present a thought provoking and yet again fascinating insight into these comedies of yesteryear. It's strange that they are no longer seen on terrestrial tv because it would be so interesting to see what...
Granville: IF I'm Hungarian why did me mother call me Granville
Arkwright: Well you top half might be Granville but your bottom half looks Hungarian and is probably called Hugo .
Shop Bell rings
Arkwright: Don't you go Hugo I'll go .
Were Lister's drink stirred in earlier episodes by an attachment to Kryten's groinal socket? Similar to the hoover when he picks up and spits out a penny. I can't see anyone else, other than Lister, drinking any drinks stirred by that attachment. :)
He doesn't look that old so given the series ended some time ago did he feature as a baby or small child [sorry cannot recall any episodes but sure someone will ]
Vital mistake there Terry , the most important letter in Yorkshire and use most frequently seems to be missing "T" as in T'paper surely you can't afford cakes. ;):)
British band Royal Blood had a huge hit figure it out a couple of years ago and the band in effectively a drummer and a bass player but the sounds he gets out of the bass are just stunning , sure Mark King from Level 42 plays a multi string bass as opposed to the normal 4.
