agreed adanor, the props dept did a tremendous job as they always did.....however, stone circles are found all over these islands, even in Yorkshire, castlerigg in the lakes is well known and of course what about the Orkneys ;)
Yes Ankh you are quite right, it is good to have such a forum where we can chat and smile in a civilized way. Must admit i'm fed up with having to wear my bowler hat, use red telephone boxes and eat beef endlessly.. ;D
the post office is a disgrace, it used to be the envy of the world....but privatisation on the cards has rapidly changed it from an efficient service to be proud of to just another profit first, customer last business.....going the same way as so much else... >:(
i agree with all of those sentiments rhi, English first, British second and proud to be both...ambivalent towards being called a European, meaningless to me...i was born and brought up in yorkshire and it still makes me smile when i meet some of the diehard family who see themselves as yorkshire...
conserving water !!!?? crikey after the amount of rain we have had there must be a massive amount of leakage...astounds me how places like the south of france can have months of hot dry weather and yet their reservoirs never seem to fall far and there is never mention of water usage...
what a fantastic thing to do...and to remember their support in this way after 30 years...commendable. John comer was one of my favourite characters too.. :)
various crash helmets including his german steel helmet when couriering, the wetsuit hood, the pink ladies hat he bought for nora to name but a few, there were so many... :)
i noticed lynda baron was mentioned in the postings about The security men....i always found her so very watchable in open all hours and thought her appearance in "getting sam home" in losw was excellent....it would have been great to have seen her in more episodes...anyone know how she is doing ?
possibly so, but we must remember it is now open to a much wider audience than it used to be both in the uk and around the world on various days and at various times in many cases.
agree that fulton macay could have been a good addition to the programme, as for his scottish accent he could have been like truly and his london years...or maybe he could have adopted a yorkshire accent, that would have been interesting...robert fyffe did a tremendous yorkshire accent and he's...
yes hate is a bit strong...not my favourite character either but then i think things were beginning to run out of steam somewhat and he didnt really have the time to settle into developing a strong likeable character.
one of my favourite characters, i agree with most comments that his second run was his strongest and my favourite episode with barry is "there goes the groom" :)
i'm in provence at th moment for a couple of weeks just to get away from the cold, spring seems quite late here too and and the daffs and tulips are in full bloom, usually gone by now...
i see the resemblance but i think the first house was in holmfirth...a good view of it in the blamire years in hailsummer morn or thereabouts where they are photographing a caterpillar outside the house....happy to be corrected.
